Art of Teaching: Heart and Voice
Yoga Training and Continuing Education (Weiterbildung)
We know yoga is more than asana. But how do we put it all together? Learn how to weave philosophy, music, and emotion into your practice and teaching, and also practical techniques to express yourself with confidence and clarity. Gain confidence to speak with your personal authentic style and share what is meaningful to you. Expand your communication tools. Bring classic philosophy alive with stories from your own life. Learn powerful (and easy) techniques of live music (harmonium, singing bowl, etc.) plus other treasures like simple chants, visualization, and guided meditation. Karl will also give a demonstration of an advanced vocal technique called overtone chant, but the training will focus on your mastery of simpler techniques that you can enjoy and integrate in your practice and teaching.
Learn how to:
– gain confidence and clarity in your voice
– reach students with your personal style
– empower and project your voice
– refine and clarify your speech
– find your voice with simple chants
– play a few simple chords on the harmonium
– play singing bowl in two different ways
– overcome vocal presentation inhibitions
– invoke the power of silence in groups
– master classroom management
