Art of Teaching: Yoga Assists
Yoga Training and Continuing Education (Weiterbildung)
Learn hands-on assists for a variety of yoga asanas and variations. For each pose Karl gives clear instructions and demos, then you practice and exchange with various partners in the group to gain experience with different body types, abilities, and restrictions. Safety always comes first. Each session begins with a 45 minute asana flow which provides a basis for practicing the assists throughout the training. Three sessions build upon each other to reach deeper levels and more advanced practices (no drop-ins for single sessions). Teachers and serious students are welcome to join us for this fun and practical training that will enlighten your own practice as well as your ability to assist others.
Learn how to:
– safely give hands-on assists, silently, using just the power of touch
– know when & how to offer verbal cues instead
– prioritize safety
– understand issues of consent
– deepen awareness of your own alignment and expression
– develop greater confidence in your self-practice and teaching
