Focus of the Week

Dear Yogis as already announced in our stories:
We would like to complement our offer with a WEEKLY FOCUS and let the topics flow into the ATHAYOGA classes.
To integrate yoga into life off the mat, we offer you insight into the philosophy and system of yoga.
Our teachers integrate the WEEKLY FOCUS in their individual way into their classes.

This Week we begin with the ethical recommendations, the so-called YAMAS from the PATANJALI SUTRAS, which can define our behaviour with others. On the classical eight-limbed yoga path, these Yamas are integrated even before beginning with the asanas practice.

AHIMSA is the first of the yamas, through MAHATMA GHANDI this term has reached the whole world;
“non-violence“ or more proper translated “the absence of harm”.

What if no violence and no harm determines our actions? The heart is open and our actions are characterised by love and compassion. When we practice ahimsa, we practice peacefulness. AHIMSA is a state of mind and thus the true practice of yoga takes place off the mat.

We are very happy about this new sharing and about the inspirations that will arise through the weekly topics on & off the mat.
