SATYA
“True mind is our real self.” – Thich Nhat Hanh
We continue with the ethical recommendations from the PATANJALI YOGA SUTRAS, which define the behaviour with ourselves and others.
SATYA is the 2nd of the Yamas.
How can we find our own truth if we don’t behave truthfully with others? As B.K.S. Iyengar used to say: “To be dishonest means we are out of harmony with the world”.
You can recognize the word SAT in it, which is „truth“ and also „existence“.
Isn’t it beautiful, that this one word has this relation in the meaning?
SATYA is about honesty and truthfulness.
What if we think, speak and act nothing but the truth, without hurting anyone nor ourselves? We are aligned with the universe, right? Doesn’t it also mean being honest with one’s own existence?
Living our truth.
SATYA is a state of mind, and we can practice satya on the mat by honoring the truth of every single moment!
Did you know that by speaking the truth is a key to activate or purify Vishuddi Chakra? The Throat Chakra works as a gate to the Chakras related to higher consciousness. When we practice Satya, we practice peacefulness, we practice truthfulness.
We are looking forward to many yoga insights this week and we hope you enjoy our Focus of the week.
See you on the mat!
