FOCUS OF THE WEEK: SAUCHA
✨SAUCHA शौच ✨
The second limb of the eight-limbed path of yoga is niyamas.

Unlike the Yamas, which refer to how the yogi treats others, the Niyamas are about one’s own personal discipline and practice.

The first niyama, Saucha is the virtue of purity or cleanliness. Purity of body, speech and mind. But also the cleanliness of our surroundings.

When we keep our surroundings and our body pure, we approach pure consciousness.

Purity is a part of worship, an attitude or purity of mind an important quality for liberation. The mind in saucha is pure and free from evil thoughts and behaviour. A pure mind is clear and unclouded, attentive and mindful.

Practice awareness to keep your mind pure. Practice asanas and pranayama exercises to keep the body pure.
Be truthful and humble to bring purity to your speech.
This is how we can live each moment with intention. ?
