Cross-Mat Mandala Yoga Workshop
Have you ever wondered why we practice Asanas (yoga poses)? Why you feel different after a yoga class than after a workout?
Together, we will look at the energetic effects of Asanas on the body, the power of the breath and the use of internal awareness to achieve a balanced physical, emotional and mental state.
This workshop is for Yogis who have never practiced Cross-Mat Yoga before and would like to learn or repeat what it is all about. In Level 1 Jennifer will explain what intelligent sequencing is, moving in all directions of mobility in the joints and in space, why we practice which asanas as well as the principles of moving from physical to energetic practices within one Mandala Flow. We will then practice a complete 1h 75 minute Cross-Mat Mandala Class.
Saturday, January 25th
14h00 – 16h15 | Level 1 – Introduction
Vinyasas will be used to transition to 4 directions in space, rather than just facing forward on 1 mat, for this two mats will be used in a cross formation. By moving all major joints of your body into all directions of mobility you are drawing Mandalas in space with the body, moving always in one direction, achieving freedom and balance, getting the ultimate Yoga experience.
Based on Universal Principles of Yoga, this practice integrates yogic philosophy and physical asana with Himalayan monastic techniques. The lineage of teachings comes through Hatha and Vinyasa roots and combines Asana with pranayama, mantras and internal visualizations. You will experience a symmetrical and even distribution of energy within your physical body, which results in a total balance of body and mind.
Jennifer has always had a connection to movement, she has found her passion in Movement art, dance and yoga.
