This masterclass will be a typical Jivamukti Yoga Class focusing mainly on backbends.
We will delve deeper into it than in our regular classes, leaving our comfort zone and gently and safely go one step further than what we think is possible. During class options we can work on individually will be shown.
Jivamukti Masterclass Backbends

Backbends are about front opening. They open our shoulders, chest, hip flexors and quads and mobilize our spine. They also stimulate the Heart Chakra (Anahata Chakra). Backbends can sometimes release stored emotions like frustration, fear, anger, sadness as well as joy and love, so it’s not unusual to suddenly have those feelings come up.
Our body’s natural response to danger is to curl in, protecting our most vulnerable part – our heart, both the physical heart and the energetic heart space. Backbends do the very opposite action, they open us up to the world and the future. Through backbends we essentially are exposing ourselves. This takes courage – and at the same time it builds courage. Energy begins to flow and allows us to get in touch with ourselves on a deeper level, experiencing inner freedom.
Masterclasses aren’t just for advanced yogis. They are for everyone who wants to go a little further, on top of their weekly yoga practice.
