Yoga Styles at ATHAYOGA

Hatha Flow, Lunch Flow, Vinyasa Yoga, Vinyasa Flow….What?

It is not easy to find orientation in the “yoga jungle”. ATHAYOGA has recognized the need of many clients and has newly developed a system that easily guides you through which classes are best for you.

Our mission statement is to combine classical knowledge with contemporary insights. Our offer should be clear, understandable and simple. We offer YOGA in all its variety and form, interpreted and taught by our experienced team of teachers.

Our schedules are balanced so that both beginners and advanced students have a wide range of classes to choose from.

ATHAYOGA does not want to introduce exclusionary levels, but intensity levels that allow our yoga teachers to draw from the wide spectrum of all yoga, providing you with a quality experience.

Standard Yoga Style

The Yoga Styles at ATHAYOGA are defined by 4 main categories:

ATHAYOGA Restorative Flow does not teach complex postures, these classes are for everyone, including beginners.

ATHAYOGA Restorative Flow is dedicated to balance and for more inner harmony. Our teachers combine activating āsanas (postures) with passive, regenerating positions and combine them effectively. Prana (life force) is generated and sustainably stored.

ATHAYOGA Restorative Flow represents the lunar energy from the Hatha Yoga system. The long-holding āsanas works on the deeper layers of the body; on the organic level, while the stimulating postures promote toning and flexibility of the body. This combination increased smoothness of the entire body-mind system; balance and serenity are created. Strength, movement and relaxation are combined instead of being opposed to each other. The mind comes to rest by observing body, breath and mind in a meditative way, thereby refining the awareness.

ATHAYOGA Restorative Flow incorporates elements of Iyengar Yoga, Yin & Yang Yoga and Restorative Yoga. We integrate tools such as blocks, blankets, cushions, pillows and yoga straps to make the postures individually accessible and to get a healthy support. ATHAYOGA Restorative Flow provides grounding, stability and therefore serenity and concentration.

Our lessons always end with Savasana (relaxation exercise).

ATHAYOGA Slow Flow does not teach complex postures, the classes are for everyone, including beginners.

ATHAYOGA Slow Flow is dedicated to balancing the nervous system and strengthening and flexibility of the body and promotes a holistically harmonized body-mind system. Prana (life force ) is distributed and balanced.

ATHAYOGA Slow Flow represents Ha-Tha, the balance of solar and lunar energy in the Hatha Yoga system. Our teachers lead these flow sequences in a slower rhythm and this makes the practice feel very powerful. In this lesson, āsanas (postures) can be hold a bit longer and more explicitly until a magical fusion of effort and ease can arise. Breathing and movement are synchronized and the awareness is removed from the carousel of thoughts and completely focused on the moment, so that harmony is created. Breathing exercises and meditation can be integrated into the class.

ATHAYOGA Slow Flow is based on classical Hatha Yoga, is also inspired by Iyengar and Vinyasa Krama methods and combines with contemporary knowledge of body and mind.

We offer tools such as blocks, blankets, cushions, pillows and yoga belts to make the āsanas more accessible and therefore more effective.

This lesson provides a holistic sense of wellbeing and therefore serenity. Our classes always end with savasana (relaxation exercise).

ATHAYOGA Dynamic Flow is suitable for anyone with a basic knowledge or a quick understanding of the subject.

ATHAYOGA Dynamic Flow is a dynamic flowing lesson and has an activating effect on ones energy and the entire body-mind system. Prana (vital force) is increased.

ATHAYOGA Dynamic Flow represents the solar energy from the Hatha Yoga system. The structure of the class is usually accompanied by music, is successively intensified. Our teachers can teach challenging sequences in dynamic sequences and also guide the longer holding of complex āsanas (postures). Correct and safe alignment of the āsanas is guided by our professionally trained team, variations are offered as needed, breath awareness is cultivated. Breathing and movement are harmonically coordinated.

ATHAYOGA Dynamic Flow can include contemporary interpreted content and elements from Ashtanga Vinyasa, Jivamukti, Iyengar, Kundalini or Anusara Yoga. Carefully guided, healthy inversion postures may be part of this class. The flow is creative, flowing and sometimes playful. It strengthens the body, improves balance and coordination, and creates mental clarity and therefore relaxation. Breathing and meditation exercises can be integrated.

Our lessons always end with Savasana (relaxation exercise).

ATHAYOGA Power Flow is suitable for experienced and healthy yogis who not only want to leave their comfort zone, but also want to grow at their limits.

It is a powerful and strongly energizing yoga lesson that stimulates the entire body-mind system. Prana (vital force) is boosted.

Our ATHAYOGA Power Flow represents the fire energy from the Hatha Yoga system. The intense structure of the class is usually accompanied by music, challenging sequences can be taught in dynamic sequence, as well as holding complex and challenging āsanas (postures) for longer. This flow can include contemporary interpreted content and elements from Ashtanga Vinyasa, Jivamukti, Kundalini and Power Yoga.

Our teachers may bring in intense core intervals and teach carefully instructed arm balance and inversion postures.

An ATHAYOGA Power Flow lesson is very empowering and clearly lifts the spirits. Body and mind are strengthened, mental clarity is achieved and thus relaxation. Breathing and meditation exercises can be integrated.

Our classes always end with Savasana (relaxation exercise).

Special Yoga Style

These Yoga Styles have specific characteristics and are therefore explained separately:

ATHAYOGA Yoga Nidra is a class without complex postures, accessible to all, even beginners.

Yoga Nidra is a deep relaxation exercise, also called the conscious sleep or the sleep of the yogis. The lesson is also very suitable to get some refreshing rest in the biorhythm of the day and thus regain energy.

The class begins with simple physical exercises, designed to release the blockages of the body and bring the energy into an unhindered flow. The deep relaxation exercise of Yoga Nidra is practiced lying down.

Regular practice of Yoga Nidra can create more balance, emotional peace and mental clarity.

ATHAYOGA Pilates goes Yoga classes are suitable for all, a basic knowledge or an effortless understanding is an advantage.

Pilates goes Yoga combines Pilates techniques with Yoga exercises. Pilates is a body workout dedicated to strengthening the core, the foundation of a stable and healthy posture. This is especially important for people who have a seated job to prevent long-term back problems and is also good for postnatal training.

Yoga complements this by the holistic aspect, so that balance and serenity are also achieved in this class. The unique combination of Pilates and Yoga creates a physical and mental centeredness and a long-term increased well-being.

Our class closes with Savasana (relaxation exercise).

ATHAYOGA TRX goes Yoga classes are suitable for all, a basic knowledge or an effortless understanding is an advantage.

In our TRX goes Yoga classes, you can use the support of the TRX straps to practice poses with the body positioned in challenging alignment to gravity and develop a lot of strength and endurance with a mix of challenging and easy movements.

It playfully provides access to more complex positions while strengthening the body. This unique combination of TRX and Yoga creates powerful and meditative movements that clear the mind and unleash the body’s full potential.

Our class closes with Savasana (relaxation exercise).

ATHAYOGA Aerial Yoga is suitable for everyone. Prior experience or completion of our aerial beginners’ course is beneficial but not mandatory.

Aerial Yoga is a unique modern form of yoga practiced using a suspended fabric, known as the Aerial Silk, hanging from the ceiling. Aerial Yoga opens up new possibilities and variations of traditional yoga asanas, whether in a suspended or standing position. It is a playful and versatile practice that enhances body flexibility and strengthens muscles. The sequences involve acrobatic elements in playing with gravity.

Aerial Yoga exercises relieve back tension and are beneficial for the spine. Complex asanas, such as inversions, become achievable with the added support of Aerial Silks, and positions can be held with ease for extended periods.

Safety is the top priority for our experienced instructors, who provide detailed guidance on the correct handling of the silks.

The class concludes with a gently swaying Savasana (relaxation exercise).

For hygienic reasons, we recommend wearing shirts that cover the armpits and long pants.

ATHAYOGA Prenatal Yoga is suitable for pregnant women of all trimesters.

This yoga practice is specifically designed to the needs of the body and mind during pregnancy. It helps to relieve and prevent discomfort and pain by supporting a strong and healthy posture that balances the weight of the growing belly.

Gentle yoga asanas help release tension in muscles, connective tissues and ligaments, while targeted breathing exercises, deep relaxation and meditation promote stabilisation of hormone levels and overall well-being for the future mother.

The class closes with Savasana (relaxation exercise).
